At the head of the family sits Blake Carrington (John Forsythe), owner of Denver Carrington. His new wife Krystle (Linda Evans), once his secretary, struggles to survive in a household where money settles everything and kindness reads as weakness. The fragile peace shatters when Blake's first wife arrives: Alexis (Joan Collins), poison-tongued, calculating and glamorous, who founds her own firm, ColbyCo, and turns a family feud into open corporate war. Around them swirl spoiled daughter Fallon, son Steven, whose sexuality stunned early-80s audiences, and a constant supply of long-buried secrets.

The show became shorthand for the Reagan years: shoulder pads, diamonds, and two women trading slaps in ballgowns. At its peak it out-rated even Dallas and made Joan Collins a household name.
