Synopsis
Brad's Status (2017) is Mike White's dramedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. On paper, Brad has it sorted: a decent job in suburban Sacramento, a wife who loves him, a gifted son about to pick a college. So why does he lie awake measuring himself against the classmates who made it bigger?
Ben Stiller dials his usual comedy way down to play a man trapped inside other people's success stories. A campus tour with his son turns into a quiet spiral of envy — one old friend cashed out a startup and retired young, another runs in White House circles, a third makes movies in Hollywood. Brad's running voiceover is by turns pitiful and uncomfortably familiar. White, who would go on to create The White Lotus, is already dissecting the same nerve here: money, status, and the soft despair of comfortable people.
