Synopsis
United (2011) is James Strong's football drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It reconstructs the night a plane carrying Manchester United's young team failed, on its third run, to lift off a slush-covered Munich runway — eight players never came home.
They were nicknamed the Busby Babes, and only a season earlier they had been the youngest squad ever to take the English league title. The story leans on two men: assistant coach Jimmy Murphy, suddenly left in charge, and a surviving player who has to walk back onto a pitch and help rebuild a club from almost nothing. Because the writers drew on recorded interviews with the survivors and bereaved families, the dialogue stays quiet and raw instead of reaching for triumphant speeches.
Jack O'Connell, Sam Claflin, and Dean Andrews play it in low, careful registers rather than tears and swelling music. This isn't a film about trophies — it's about a handful of people pulling themselves out of grief and carrying on. Stream United (2011) online on iFILM.
