Synopsis
The Sacrifice (金刚川, 2020) is a Chinese war drama you can watch online on iFILM. It's the summer of 1953, the Korean War winding down to its final days. To reach the Kumsong front on time, Chinese volunteer soldiers have to hold one fragile crossing — a timber bridge that American bombers flatten again and again.
Directors Guan Hu, Guo Fan and Lu Yang tell a single day over and over from shifting vantage points: the infantry waiting by the water, an anti-aircraft crew dug in on the bank, and the pilots overhead. Each pass fills in what the last one left out, so the raid, the shelling and the desperate repairs under fire only resolve into one picture by the end. Ammunition is short, the gear is outmatched, and the clock never stops.
Zhang Yi, Wu Jing, Deng Chao and Ou Hao lead the cast. This isn't a film about generals and maps — it's about what every plank nailed back down under the bombs actually costs. Blunt and unsentimental, it's for viewers who watch war films for the price paid, not the glory. Stream The Sacrifice online on iFILM.
