The New One-Armed Swordsman (新獨臂刀, 1971) is a Hong Kong martial arts film from Shaw Brothers — watch online on iFILM. Director Chang Cheh puts David Chiang as Lei Li, a swordsman who lost his right arm to a rival master and rebuilt himself fighting left-handed.

He wants nothing to do with combat — until a woman named Pao Chiao needs help only a warrior can give. Ti Lung co-stars as his ally Chung-Chieng. Chiang and Ti Lung were Chang Cheh's most trusted leads, and this film is one of the cleaner examples of what made their partnership work: no wasted scenes, action that carries consequence, and a protagonist defined by what he chose to rebuild rather than what he lost.
