Synopsis
"Mr. Six" (老炮儿, 2015) is a Beijing crime drama directed by Guan Hu — watch online on iFILM. The man they used to call Lao Pao Er, Old Cannon, once ran the hutongs. Now he's just an aging relic nobody remembers.
His wayward son scratches a Ferrari belonging to a pack of wealthy young street racers. They take the kid. Old Cannon tries to lean on the old reputation — and gets blank stares in return. These kids have never heard his name. Getting the old crew back together seems like the only way left.
The standout casting choice: legendary Chinese director Feng Xiaogang takes the lead role here as an actor, opposite Zhang Hanyu, Chris Wu and Lay Zhang. At 134 minutes the film doubles as a portrait of a city that has left its past behind. Watch Mr. Six (2015) online on iFILM.
