Synopsis
Strange Planet (2023) is an animated comedy you can watch online on iFILM, set on a faraway world of blue beings who live almost exactly like us, except they describe everything in blunt, literal terms.
Coffee is "jitter liquid," a pet is "the small one who agreed to live here," and saying I love you turns into a careful report on the behavior of a heart. Underneath the odd phrasing sit very human moments: first-date nerves, the fear of getting older, the simple wish to be noticed. The series runs on short vignettes about friendship, loneliness and trying to make sense of any of it.
The show grew out of Nathan W. Pyle's webcomic, with Dan Harmon helping shape it for screen. Danny Pudi, Hannah Einbinder and D'Arcy Carden lend their voices.
