Felidae

His guide through the back-alley underworld is a scarred old cynic named Bluebeard, and the trail leads toward a grim secret involving genetic experiments and a fanatical cult.

The film commits fully: blood, dread, and frank talk about death and faith make this grown-up animation in the European auteur tradition.
