Welcome to Wrexham (2022) is the FX documentary series you can watch online on iFILM. Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC in 2020 — one of the oldest professional football clubs on earth, long stranded in the lower divisions of Welsh and English football.

There's a catch. Neither owner knows much about running a club. The cameras trail them from awkward first press conferences into the dressing room, the training pitch and the stands, where an entire working-class town in North Wales lives and dies on every result. The show splits its attention evenly between the two famous newcomers and the locals — players, lifelong supporters, pub regulars — for whom Wrexham mattered long before any celebrity signed the cheque.

What comes out of it is an odd, warm hybrid: part sports drama, part town portrait, part comedy about two rich men in over their heads. The series has picked up multiple Emmys in the unscripted categories. You don't need to care about football for it to land — it's about people, not the scoreline.
