Synopsis

A bomb tears through a TV studio during a karuta tournament, and Conan barely drags Heiji Hattori and Kazuha clear of the flames. Soon after, the sport's reigning champion turns up dead in Kyoto, playing cards scattered beside the body. Working with the Osaka police, Conan and Heiji unpick a case knotted around classical poetry and a charming young champion named Momiji.

Director Kobun Shizuno builds the whole film around Heiji and Kazuha, a pairing fans had waited years to see in the spotlight.
