Adventures in Public School

Adventures in Public School (2018) is a Canadian coming-of-age comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Liam has spent his whole life home-schooled under the wing of his hovering mother, played by Judy Greer — until a girl he meets at his equivalency exam pushes him to enroll in an ordinary high school for the first time.

What follows is gentle chaos. A seventeen-year-old who's never navigated a cafeteria or a locker combination throws himself into the rituals of teen life, all for a sharp classmate who happens to use a wheelchair. His mother does everything short of kidnapping to drag him back home, the principal eyes him sideways, and Liam keeps rewinding his own awkward moments in his head, imagining how they might have gone.

Director Kyle Rideout makes something warm and a little offbeat about how terrifying — and funny — it is to leave your comfort zone.
