Purgatory

Purgatory (1999) is Uli Edel's supernatural Western you can watch online on iFILM. A gang of robbers outruns a posse and rolls into Refuge, a quiet town where the sheriff wears no gun and the locals look oddly familiar.

Refuge turns out to be Purgatory. Its peaceful residents are dead gunslingers — Wild Bill Hickok, Doc Holliday, Jesse James, Billy the Kid — working off their sins for a shot at Heaven, forbidden from picking up a weapon. Then Blackjack's outfit tears into town, the fragile calm splinters, and every soul has to choose between redemption and damnation. Sam Shepard plays the local lawman, backed by Eric Roberts, Randy Quaid and Peter Stormare.
