Synopsis
Night Gallery (1970–1973) is Rod Serling's horror anthology series, and you can watch online on iFILM. Every episode opens inside a shadowy museum, where Serling strolls up to a painting and tells the tale hidden behind the canvas.
After The Twilight Zone, Serling came back to television with something darker and more gothic — ghosts, curses, monsters wearing respectable faces, and a streak of pitch-black humor. The stories stand alone: a bargain that turns rotten, a revenge that refuses to stay buried, a quiet evil hiding in plain sight. Real artists painted the canvases for that macabre gallery, and the cast roster runs deep, from Vincent Price to Leslie Nielsen and Geraldine Page.
The directing lineup is its own reason to tune in. A twenty-three-year-old Steven Spielberg shot the segment "Eyes" with Joan Crawford — his first professional job behind a camera. Leonard Nimoy and John Badham took turns too. It's a treat for anyone who loves bite-sized retro horror and doesn't mind the grain of 1970s film stock.
