Synopsis
Trunk - Locked In (2023) is a German single-location thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Medical student Malina comes to in pitch darkness, sealed inside the trunk of a moving car, with no memory of how she got there.
Almost the entire film rides on one woman and one phone. The signal keeps dropping, the battery keeps draining, and the voices on the line take turns helping her and lying to her. Piecing together stray sounds and her own medical training, Malina tries to work out where the car is headed and why. Director Marc Schießer locks the viewer in beside her — the camera barely leaves that cramped metal box, so the panic lands as something physical.
Sina Martens carries ninety-six minutes nearly solo, mostly in close-up, and it's a rare confined-space movie that doesn't run out of air halfway through.
