Synopsis
Second Tour (2023) is a French political comedy you can watch online on iFILM. After a career stumble, journalist Miss Pove is banished to the sports desk, but she's quickly pulled back into political coverage to trail a presidential front-runner — a fifty-year-old heir from one of France's old-money families who has never once run for office before.
The catch: she knows him. Or knew him. The carefully managed candidate she's assigned to cover looks a great deal smoother than the man she remembers, and that gap is what sends her digging. Directed by Albert Dupontel, who also plays the candidate opposite Cécile de France, the film finds its comedy less in broad political satire than in the collision between a politician's curated image and the inconvenient people who saw the original. It moves quickly, doesn't overstate its points, and earns a few genuine surprises along the way.
