Synopsis
The Second Act (Le Deuxième Acte, 2024) is a French absurdist comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Quentin Dupieux. Florence wants to introduce her father Guillaume to David, the man she's fallen for. Trouble is, David has no interest in Florence and has hatched a scheme to redirect her toward his friend Willy. The four of them end up at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
Then Dupieux does what he does best: peels back the surface of the scene to reveal everyone knows they're in a film, turns the romantic farce inside out, and lets the actors argue about cinema, relevance, and what it means to keep performing when the script no longer holds together. It runs eighty tight minutes and doesn't overstay.
