Synopsis

Griffith volunteers his mercenaries for a job that has broken everyone before them: storming the fortress of Doldrey. Five thousand riders against a garrison of thirty thousand. Griffith will spend any life to reach the throne, while Guts, his right hand and the man behind a sword as tall as he is, starts to grasp the price of carrying someone else's ambition. The film stages Guts' brutal duel with the Blood Knight Adon and a turning point with Casca that reshapes the whole company.
Director Toshiyuki Kubooka shoots the cavalry clashes on a wide scale and keeps the source material's blood and cruelty intact, steering the story to the edge of an ending fans of the manga dread.
