Fabricated City

Fabricated City (조작된 도시, 2017) is a South Korean action thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Park Kwang-hyun and led by Ji Chang-wook. In the real world, Kwon Yoo is going nowhere — unemployed, living at home, spending his days captaining an online gaming squad. Inside the game, he's a tactician nobody can beat.

One night he picks up a stranger's phone and returns it. The next morning he's arrested for the woman's rape and murder. The evidence is clean, the trial takes minutes, and the sentence is life. From inside prison Kwon Yoo does what he knows: he assembles a team. A hacker named Yeo-wool on the outside, a mechanic, a disgraced cop — all coordinated through a network, all working a case that the system has already closed. The gameplay logic that makes him lethal in virtual arenas turns out to translate surprisingly well to evading a real conspiracy.

Park Kwang-hyun keeps the action grounded enough that the bigger set pieces land, and Ji Chang-wook commits fully even when the plot asks a lot.
