Synopsis
The January Man (1989) is an offbeat crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A killer is loose in New York — one woman murdered every month, eleven victims and counting.
The department is stuck, so the mayor (Rod Steiger) reluctantly reinstates Nick Starkey (Kevin Kline), a brilliant, unpredictable ex-detective who happens to be estranged from his brother, Commissioner Frank (Harvey Keitel), and from the woman Frank went on to marry (Susan Sarandon). John Patrick Shanley wrote the script right after his Oscar-winning Moonstruck, so the manhunt keeps veering off into farce and into a romance with the mayor's daughter (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio).
