It opens on a helicopter crash. The captain died of a heart attack, yet Ryan doubts the heart brought the aircraft down — and with seventy-five machines grounded, an accident investigator wants answers from her fast. Next, a small-time crook is set up to take the fall for a gangland killing; Sam believes he is innocent and challenges the police over a witness's supposed suicide. The closing case is the identification of a victim from a cinema fire, where a medical artist rebuilds the face and the identity of "Body 10" embarrasses the force — a man may have been convicted of murder he did not commit.
