Synopsis
The Adventures of Picasso (Picassos äventyr, 1978) is a Swedish farcical comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Tage Danielsson and co-written by Hans Alfredson, who also appears on screen.
The film traces Pablo Picasso's life from his early years to death and a bit beyond, with actors cast to resemble their historical counterparts: Gösta Ekman as Picasso, orbited by Dalí, Apollinaire, Gertrude Stein, and Alice B. Toklas — the latter two played by men, which is one of the jokes. Lena Olin turns up in an early screen role. The dialogue shifts between Swedish, Spanish, French, Italian, and what might generously be called pseudo-Russian, with no subtitles and no explanation offered.
