Synopsis
Guinea Pig Part 2: Flower of Flesh and Blood (1985) is a notorious Japanese horror film you can watch online on iFILM. It runs just 42 minutes and was directed by manga artist Hideshi Hino.
A woman is snatched off the street at night and knocked out with chloroform. She wakes chained inside a blood-soaked cellar, at the mercy of a white-faced man in a samurai helmet who means to turn her into his "flower of flesh and blood." There is almost no plot here; the whole film is a staged, drawn-out ritual carried entirely by makeup and practical gore effects.
What earned it a place in film history was not craft but scandal. The effects looked so real that actor Charlie Sheen reportedly mistook a copy for an actual snuff film and alerted the FBI, triggering an investigation in which the makers had to prove it was all prosthetics. Today it stands as a cult landmark of Japanese splatter, sought out by collectors of extreme horror. Be warned: it is graphic in the extreme and not for sensitive viewers.
