The Lawsons guard the secret from their nosy neighbors next door. Joan dotes on Vicki like a real daughter, while young Jamie quickly figures out the android can do his homework and fend off Harriet, the pesky redhead from across the way. Vicki's flat monotone and superhuman strength fuel most of the show's gags.

Running four seasons through the late 1980s, the series became a time capsule of the era's broad family comedy — laugh track, tidy moral lessons and a robot in a pinafore standing in for special effects.
