Synopsis
Street Flow (Banlieusards, 2019) is a French crime drama co-directed by Alix Mathurin and Leïla Sy — watch it online on iFILM. Three brothers grew up in the same Paris banlieue and ended up on completely different roads. Soulaymaan is grinding through law school, Demba is deep in the street life and not looking for a way out, and teenage Noumouké is still deciding which version of himself to become.
The film doesn't dress up either path. Law school is thankless and slow; the criminal world is brutal and short. Mathurin and Sy shoot the suburb without nostalgia or glamour — just the concrete, the stairwells, the small choices that compound into a life. Mathieu Kassovitz has a small role, a quiet nod to La Haine and the thirty years of films that tried to capture the same geography.
