Pasha

Pasha (Le pacha, 1968) is a French-Italian crime polar by Georges Lautner that you can watch online on iFILM. Inspector Joss is six months from retirement when an armoured cash van is hit and its guards are gunned down at point-blank range.

After the robbery the raiders start turning up dead, one by one, as someone quietly erases every witness. When Joss finds his old partner staged as a clumsy suicide, the veteran cop snaps. He runs his own investigation, descending into the Paris underworld of thieves, fences and bent policemen. Jean Gabin plays him as a tired but unbending wolf, too old now to forgive anyone.

The dialogue comes from Michel Audiard, all sharp, much-quoted lines, and Serge Gainsbourg supplies the score with his caustic "Requiem pour un con."
