Synopsis

Speak No Evil (2022) is a Danish-Dutch horror thriller from Christian Tafdrup that you can watch online on iFILM. A Danish couple and their daughter befriend a charming Dutch family while on holiday in Italy. Weeks later, an invitation arrives.

Bjørn and Louise accept a weekend at the Dutch couple's remote country house. Small things feel off from the start — a host who jokes too sharply, a boy who cannot speak, little discomforts easy to wave away as cultural difference. The guests keep smiling and keep enduring. Every time it would make sense to pack up and leave, they stay instead. That very politeness is the trap the film tightens around them.

Tafdrup built his dread out of manners rather than monsters: the horror grows from a refusal to seem rude. The ending pulls no punches and is not for anyone after a cozy scare.
