Synopsis
Adam Sandler: 100% Fresh (2018) is the Netflix musical stand-up special you can watch online on iFILM. Sandler grabs a guitar and a stack of ridiculous songs, with longtime collaborator Steven Brill behind the camera.
There's no single stage here. The cameras follow Sandler from a comedy club to a packed concert hall to a New York subway platform where the commuters clearly did not sign up for this. Between goofy tunes about food, dogs and getting older, he slips in "I Was on the Road," an aching tribute to Chris Farley that lands like a punch after an hour of jokes. Rob Schneider turns up too.
This is Sandler with no blockbuster script to hide behind: loose, self-deprecating and, now and then, surprisingly tender.
