The inquiry points toward Gregório Fortunato — the man who ran President Getúlio Vargas's personal guard. From that shot to the morning of August 24th, the film tracks nineteen days of a government coming apart: congressional pressure, military ultimatums, and a president with nowhere left to maneuver.
