Reincarnated

Reincarnated (2012) is a VICE documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Andy Capper. Snoop Dogg flies to Jamaica, renames himself Snoop Lion, and heads into the studio with Diplo, Damian Marley and Dre Skull of Major Lazer to record a reggae record from scratch.

The camera follows studio sessions with Bunny Wailer, one of the last living founders of the original reggae movement, and a sit-down with Louis Farrakhan in which Snoop talks through his reasons for the left turn. After two decades in rap, something needed to change. The film doesn't try to sell the rebrand — it just shows what went into it. Stream it online on iFILM.
