Maryland (2015) is a French-Belgian psychological thriller directed by Alice Winocour — watch online on iFILM. Matthias Schoenaerts plays Vincent, a former soldier carrying PTSD from his combat years, who takes a private security job guarding the family of a wealthy Lebanese businessman.

The employer flies out on business and leaves Vincent alone with his wife and young son at an isolated seaside estate. Diane Kruger's character is hard to read: she may need protection, or she may be the most controlled person in the room. Winocour strips the thriller down to its nerve endings — no car chases, just silence, proximity, and a tension that builds from Vincent's fractured perception as much as from any external threat.
