Synopsis
Listen to Me Marlon (2015) is the Marlon Brando documentary you can watch online on iFILM, built by British director Stevan Riley out of hundreds of hours of the actor's private audio tapes. No interviews, no commentators — just Brando.
He narrates his own life. Across recordings he made over decades, he talks about the Method and Stella Adler, a childhood with a drunk father, the shock of "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "The Godfather," and the fame that eventually disgusted him. Riley lays that monologue over a digitized 3D scan of the actor's head and reels of archive footage, so the result plays less like a biography and more like a confession assembled from the man himself.
The power comes from what is missing. There are no talking heads and no narrator translating him into someone else's words. This one is for viewers who want less a recap of the roles than a sense of how Brando explained his own rage, guilt, and retreat into seclusion. Stream Listen to Me Marlon (2015) online on iFILM.
