Synopsis
Border (1997) is an Indian war epic you can watch online on iFILM, directed by J.P. Dutta and based on the night of December 1971 when a small Indian garrison in the Thar Desert held its post against a Pakistani armored column until air support arrived at dawn. Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and a young Akshaye Khanna lead a large ensemble cast.
Dutta doesn't build around a single hero. Each soldier gets his own story — a letter home, a platform farewell, a quiet exchange before the shooting starts. Rakhee Gulzar and Tabu play the women waiting for word at the other end of the country. At nearly three hours, the film takes its time deliberately, so that when the tanks come the viewer already knows whose hands are on the rifles.
