A LEGO Brickumentary
If you thought you knew the world of Lego, YOU DON'T KNOW BRICK!
Synopsis
A LEGO Brickumentary (2014) is a family documentary you can watch online on iFILM, a tour through how a small Danish brick became a worldwide obsession.
Directors Daniel Junge and Kief Davidson move from the factory floor in Billund to convention halls where adult fans — they call themselves AFOLs — assemble Death Stars from hundreds of thousands of pieces. Jason Bateman narrates; Phil Lord and Chris Miller of The LEGO Movie drop in, along with artist Nathan Sawaya, who quit law to sculpt full-time in plastic.
The film gets at why a plain brick outlasted video games and stayed relevant for eighty years, and even shows the toy used in therapy for kids on the autism spectrum. It's a warm watch for anyone who ever dumped a box across the living-room floor. Stream A LEGO Brickumentary (2014) online on iFILM.
