Synopsis

A high school teacher answers a student's question about the words of Jesus. That single classroom exchange triggers a lawsuit. The school board and a determined prosecutor, played by Ray Wise, push to have her fired and set a legal precedent: any mention of religion in a public school equals a violation. Young attorney Tom Andrews, played by Metcalfe, takes her case and prepares for a courtroom fight over where faith ends and the law begins.
