Synopsis
Prison Playbook (2017) is a Korean series you can watch online on iFILM. Star pitcher Kim Je-hyuk is days from his major-league debut when one moment derails everything — he beats the man who attacked his sister, and draws a year behind bars.
Inside, he's met by a childhood friend who now works as a guard in that very prison. His cell is packed with men and their crimes: an addict, a con artist, a quiet old-timer, a faded gang boss. Je-hyuk has to learn the unwritten rules of the place and keep his pitching arm alive until release. Park Hae-soo — later of Squid Game — plays a man stripped of his career but not his backbone.
The show comes from Shin Won-ho, the director behind the Reply series and Hospital Playlist, a specialist in warm, lived-in comedy. He films prison his own way: a grim setting that still makes room for friendship, humor and small dignities. Sixteen episodes about second chances and decency where you'd least expect them.
