Paintball

Paintball (2009) is a Spanish survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Eight strangers sign up for an expert-level paintball match deep in the woods. An hour in, they realize the pellets have been swapped for live rounds.

Director Daniel Benmayor shoots much of it through scopes, thermal optics and helmet cams, so you track the hunt from inside the players' goggles, never sure who gets picked off next. The team falls apart fast. Trust evaporates, the friendly game turns into a scramble to break out of the marked-off zone, and the unseen shooter clearly knows the terrain better than anyone. Brendan Mackey, Jennifer Matter and Neil Maskell lead the cast.

The premise is lean and it works: 86 tight minutes, barely any dialogue, all stakes and gun-sight camerawork. Fans of stripped-down survival horror in the vein of a grounded, sci-fi-free Predator should give this one a night. Stream Paintball (2009) online on iFILM.
