Poorly Rich

Poveri ma ricchi (Poorly Rich, 2016) is an Italian comedy directed by Fausto Brizzi that you can watch online on iFILM. The Tucci family — a tight-knit, unpolished bunch from a small Italian town — win a lottery jackpot overnight. Pressure from neighbours and hangers-on makes staying home impossible, so they pack up and head to Rome to spend their money somewhere nobody knows them.

Christian De Sica and Enrico Brignano lead the cast in the kind of broad physical comedy Italian cinema has exported for decades, though Brizzi keeps the pace brisk enough that the gags don't overstay their welcome. Lodovica Comello plays the daughter who takes to city life with suspicious ease. The Tuccis arrive in Rome convinced wealth comes with its own instruction manual — and discover immediately that it does not.
