Synopsis
Too Neapolitan (Troppo napoletano, 2016) is an Italian family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Eleven-year-old Ciro is growing up inside a loud Neapolitan clan, still reeling from the death of his father — a neomelodic singer who collapsed during a live show.
His mother Debora fears the boy is sinking into depression and brings him to a shy child psychologist named Tommaso. The real diagnosis turns out to be simpler: Ciro has fallen for a classmate, Ludovica, and has no idea how to talk to her. So the two strike a bargain — Tommaso coaches the kid on romance, and Ciro plays matchmaker between the doctor and his mom.
Director Gianluca Ansanelli turns a child's first crush and a grown man's awkwardness into one warm, low-key comedy, with Serena Rossi as Debora and the city of Naples — its songs, its sprawling households — as a character in its own right.
