Synopsis
Lovely & Amazing (2002) is Nicole Holofcener's wry family drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. It follows four women of the Marks family, each gnawed at by her own insecurity.
The mother schedules cosmetic surgery she doesn't need. Eldest daughter Michelle makes little crafts nobody will buy and drifts into an uneasy fling with a teenager half her age. Elizabeth, an actress, fishes for reassurance from everyone she meets, while the youngest, an adopted girl, has already soaked up the household's anxiety about looks. Catherine Keener, Emily Mortimer, Brenda Blethyn and a young Jake Gyllenhaal play it small and exact.
