Synopsis

So she finds a workaround for a future she won't reach: she wraps eighteen gifts in advance, one for every birthday until the girl turns adult. Years later, grown-up Anna receives those parcels from a mother she can't remember, and she resents them far more than she treasures them. Then an odd twist of fate lets her cross paths with Elisa in the past. The script grew out of the real story of Elisa Girotto, which is why the film keeps sidestepping cheap tears.
Vittoria Puccini and Benedetta Porcaroli carry it as the mother and daughter who meet against the clock. Yes, it's an open-hearted weepie, and the ending lands exactly where it aims.
