Synopsis

To understand humanity, these visitors harvest "concepts" — with a single touch they pull the very idea of family, ownership or love out of a mind, and whatever they take is gone for good. Meanwhile, reporter Sakurai chases a gruesome family murder and stumbles onto more of the strangers, who are quietly preparing the end of the world.
Kurosawa stages the apocalypse as something ordinary: sunlit streets, kitchen-table talk, dread leaking in through small details. It's genre filmmaking that keeps asking what actually makes us human.
