Synopsis
Long Weekend (2009) is an Australian eco-horror you can watch online on iFILM, and it earns its slow dread. Peter and Carla, a married couple coming apart at the seams, drive out for a camping weekend on a remote beach that shows up on no map.
For a while it's the romantic reset they pictured. Then Peter (Jim Caviezel) starts treating the wilderness with contempt — firing his rifle for fun, scattering trash, crushing whatever crosses his path. The place seems to answer back. Insects, animals, the sea and the bush itself close in, and the couple's own bickering only feeds the spiral.
Director Jamie Blanks remade the cult 1978 Australian film from Everett De Roche's script, betting on creeping paranoia and a hostile landscape instead of any monster. It's a patient, prickly thriller for viewers who find silence scarier than a jump scare. Stream Long Weekend (2009) online on iFILM.
