Lester Parsons has a gambling problem and a practical solution: scan lonely-hearts ads for wealthy widows, charm them, and make them disappear. His methods of disposal are varied enough that detectives have found nothing for years. The arrangement holds until a copycat begins working the same territory — sloppier, and too close for comfort.
