Synopsis
The Dragon Ring (Desideria e l'anello del drago, 1994) is an Italian fantasy adventure you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Lamberto Bava. A tyrannical king has two daughters: the good-hearted Desideria and her calculating adopted sister Selvaggia, raised by wolves and ready to take whatever is not hers.
The dragon ring — the symbol of absolute rule over the kingdom — goes to whoever marries first, and Selvaggia sees her chance. At 186 minutes the film covers a lot of ground: castles, enchanted forests, deserts, underwater kingdoms and a proper jousting tournament before the dust settles. Bava, better known for horror, delivers a full-blooded Italian fairy tale here, with fire-breathing dragons, blood-thirsty witches and talking puppets in equal measure.
