Synopsis
The Cave of the Golden Rose 3 (Fantaghirò 3, 1993) is Lamberto Bava's Italian fantasy fairy tale, ready to watch online on iFILM. Alessandra Martines returns as the warrior princess Fantaghirò, with Kim Rossi Stuart as the dark sorcerer Tarabas.
Tarabas, son of the witch Xellesia, learns of a prophecy that a royal child will one day strip away his power. His army of undead soldiers can't be felled by sword or bullet, so he sends them to kidnap every prince and princess in the land. When they raid Fantaghirò's castle for her nieces and nephews, she stumbles onto their one weakness — water turns them to stone. But the same battle costs her dearly: her beloved Romualdo is frozen mid-fight, and only Tarabas can lift the curse.
This third chapter of the beloved early-'90s saga was a staple of childhood television across Italy, Russia and beyond. Ursula Andress and Brigitte Nielsen lend the adventure some star wattage, and its three-hours-plus runtime gives the quest room to breathe. Gentle, magical, and built for the whole family.
