Synopsis
Tresor (2009) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Alain Chabat and Mathilde Seigner play a couple whose five-year relationship gets tested by, of all things, a puppy.
For their anniversary, Jean-Pierre surprises Nathalie with a four-month-old English bulldog, and she promptly names him Trésor. Nathalie adores the dog instantly, fussing over him like a child. For Jean-Pierre, though, the pup turns into one long headache: he wrecks the apartment, hogs all the attention, and slowly becomes the third wheel in the marriage. Plain domestic jealousy, over a dog, spirals into a string of small, very recognizable disasters.
This was Claude Berri's final film; he began directing and died before it was finished, with François Dupeyron stepping in to complete it. Fanny Ardant appears alongside Chabat and Seigner. It's a gentle situation comedy about how one small pet can upend the fragile routine of two people. Easy to enjoy if you like low-key French humor. Stream Tresor online on iFILM.
