Synopsis
Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator (2019) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Director Eva Orner traces how hot-yoga founder Bikram Choudhury went from idol of millions to accused predator.
The film is built from archival footage and frank interviews with former students and staff. Choudhury arrived in the United States from Calcutta, trademarked a sequence of 26 poses performed in a room heated past 40°C, and grew a yoga empire with thousands of devoted followers. Then the lawsuits came: dozens of women described harassment and assault at his training retreats. Orner does more than recap the scandal — she digs into how a personality cult and blind devotion let an abuser stay untouchable for years. A hard watch, and a necessary one.
