Delirious

Delirious (1991) is a fantasy comedy with John Candy that you can watch online on iFILM. Soap opera writer Jack Gable cracks his head, blacks out, and comes to inside his own show — the small town of Ashford Falls, surrounded by the very characters he's been scripting for years.

At first it's a nightmare; the locals treat him as an intruder and the plot keeps yanking him around. Then Jack notices something odd. Sit down at a typewriter, bang out a few lines, and reality bends to match. So he sets about rewriting the whole thing in his favor — to win over the show's gorgeous star (Emma Samms) and snag the Emmy he's always craved. Standing in his way is a prim "good girl" his script simply won't budge, played by Mariel Hemingway.

Tom Mankiewicz directs, with Raymond Burr and Jerry Orbach rounding out the cast. It's a light, knowing fairy tale about a writer trapped in his own clichés, and one of Candy's last star turns. Stream Delirious (1991) online on iFILM.
