Synopsis
The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) is an American horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Amy Holden Jones from a screenplay by Rita Mae Brown that smuggled genuine feminist commentary into the slasher format. High schooler Trish throws a sleepover while her parents are away. That same night, convicted killer Russ Thorn breaks out of the psychiatric facility, drill in hand.
The setup is deliberate genre shorthand — and the film knows it. Brown's script frames the killer's oversized power drill as something pointed, not accidental. The girls are not passive victims waiting to be picked off; next-door neighbour Valerie is smart, watchful, and closer to the action than anyone realises. At 77 minutes the film doesn't overstay its welcome, and the tension barely lets up once Thorn reaches the house.
For a 1982 slasher this remains one of the more self-aware entries in the cycle — worth revisiting alongside the decade's other genre landmarks. Stream The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) in full online on iFILM.
