Out of Inferno

Directed by the Pang Brothers (Oxide and Danny), the duo behind The Eye and Bangkok Dangerous, the film stars Lau Ching-wan and Louis Koo — two of the biggest names in Hong Kong cinema through the 2000s and 2010s. A significant portion of the fire sequences were shot practically rather than replaced in post-production, and the claustrophobic heat of the stairwell scenes makes that count.
